Smith excelled in volleyball and softball at Concord, winning four letters in each sport.

As a setter for the volleyball team, Smith averaged nearly six assists per set, ending her career as one of Concord's all-time assists leaders. She was part of the 1995 team that led the nation in service aces.

In softball, Smith led the nation with 15 doubles in 1997. Smith earned All-WVIAC recognition in 1998 and 1999.
