George earned 1st Team All-WVIAC honors in each of his four seasons on the Concord University men's golf team. His watershed year came in 2002 – he was the WVIAC Player of the Year, Medalist at the conference tournament and co-champion of the NCAA East Region tournament. He qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships that season and earned All-American status.

George played in 43 tournaments as a Mountain Lion, winning five. He posted a 74.6 career scoring average and was a member of CU’s 2004 WVIAC Championship squad.

George also excelled in the classroom – he was an NCAA All-American Scholar in 2003 and 2004.
