Mr. David Lipscomb from Roderfield played football from 1974 to 1977 and was on playoff teams each year. The team earned WVIAC championships in 1976 and 1977. His career yards totaled 2,819 and he earned 158 points during his career. He was the offensive player MVP (most valuable player) in the Coal Bowl in 1976, and he earned honorable mention on the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) all-American team in 1976 and 1977.
