A mainstay on the defensive line for Concord from 1989-1992, Thompson was a 1992 NAIA All-American. Thompson was a member of the WVIAC's top defense in 1992 that allowed 266 yards per game and just 63 rushing yards per contest. Thompson is the only Concord defensive football player to be named All-WVIAC three times.
