CU took a week off after opening 2026 at the Marshall Invite January 10.
In the women's competition, sophomore
Cassidy Hammonds was top 10 in three different events. She marked 5.27 meters in the long jump to place sixth and was tenth in both the 60-meter hurdles (9.42 seconds) and 800-meter run (2:31.20). Freshman
Violet Wall was named the MEC Athlete of the Week after two top-15 finishes. She ran 2:22.55 which was good enough for fifth, and came through in 12
th in the mile run (5:18.20). Junior
Meagan Poticher tossed 9.32 meters in the shot put to finish 14
th and was 16
th in the weight throw (10.58 meters). Fellow junior
Sara Turner ran a personal-record time of 11:06.97 in the 3,000-meter run at Marshall.
For the Concord men's team, junior
Braden Ward was the MEC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week after his showing in the mile and 3,000-meter runs at Marshall. Ward ran a personal-best time of 4:22.48. He clocked 8:41.12 in the 3,000-meters. He was fourth in both events. Sophomore
Reese Hickey (fifth/4:25.03) and junior
AJ Skeens (seventh/4:27.80) both clocked career-best times in the mile. Sophomore
Dallas Ford nearly broke the school record in the triple jump at Marshall with a mark of 13.93 meters, only 0.04 meters off the school record. He was fifth in the event.
LIBERTY ENTRIES
Highlights for the women's team will be the middle distance events once again. Eight Mountain Lions line up in the mile. Wall (5:14), Turner (5:20), freshman
Avery Lilly (5:45) and junior
Charlotte McGinnis (5:52) are all seeded under six minutes. Also in the event will be sophomore
Larah Blevins, freshman Molly Jones, junior
Abbey Londeree and freshman
Larissa Wickline. Doubling up in the 800-meters will be Wall (2:18), Lilly (2:34), McGinnis (2:40), Jones (3:01) and Wickline (3:04). In the 200-meter dash will be sophomore
Kendall Lilly and
Jenna Webb along with freshman
Hannah Rhodes. And in the field events, Poticher looks to build off her performance at Marshall as she is entered in the shot put with sophomore
Chloe Cox and Hammonds.
Redshirt freshman
Dom Collins put together a stellar effort in the 60-meter dash at Marshall, running 6.90 seconds which is third best in the MEC this winter. Collins and Ford will be entered in the event this weekend. After a strong outdoor campaign in 2025, sophomore
Aaron Miller makes his 400-meter season debut alongside freshman
William Jackson who has a top-10 time in the MEC in the event (51.46 seconds). Sophomore

Myles Gurnee are also slated for the quarter mile. Hickey seeks to build upon his mile from two weeks ago when he lines up with sophomore
