MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Concord University men's track & field team finished ninth at the Mountain East Conference Outdoor Championships that concluded Tuesday at Mylan Park.
CU scored 48.5 points as it was 5.5 points away from seventh place.
Redshirt freshman
Dom Collins finished third in the 100-meter dash as he led for majority of the race before being outleaned at the line by West Virginia State's Malik Kelsie (10.791 seconds) and Point Park's Akeem Mustapha (10.798 seconds). Collins clocked 10.82 seconds.
Freshman
Myles Gurnee picked up four points for the Mountain Lions as he ran a personal-best time of 56.46 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles and placed fifth.
Concord scored eight more points in the triple jump with sophomores
Dallas Ford and
Daminn Cunningham contributing to the scoring. Ford had a season-best mark of 13.68 meters as he placed fourth. Cunningham's distance of 13.42 meter was good enough for sixth and three points.
Cunningham went over 1.85 meters in the high jump to pick up 1.5 points in sixth.
Junior
Braden Ward clocked 15:13.26 in the 5,000-meter run as he placed seventh, scoring two points. Fellow junior
Bramley Childress finished 14
th in the 5,000-meters as he crossed in 16:03.92.
The 4x400-meter relay of Gurnee, sophomore
Reese Hickey, freshman
William Jackson and sophomore
Aaron Miller placed seventh (3:27.86), and the 4x100-meter relay squad of senior
Andrew Beohler, senior
Ryan Covington, Ford and senior
Richard Henry was eighth (43.67 seconds).
