ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's and women's track & field teams compete at the Mountain East Conference Outdoor Championships Sunday through Tuesday at Mylan Park in Morgantown, West Virginia.

LAST TIME OUT
The final regular-season meet of the season was contested at the Jasmine Claggett Invite at West Virginia Wesleyan last weekend.
On the men's side, sophomore
Daminn Cunningham cleared 2.00 meters in the high jump to set a personal-record as he continues to lead the MEC in the event. Freshman
William Jackson secured his spot in the 400-meter dash at the MEC Championships with a time of 50.55 seconds at Wesleyan. Sophomore
Tobi Adebulu ran a career-best time of 17.63 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and had a long jump mark of 5.49 meters.
For the Mountain Lion women, freshman
Avery Lilly cleared 2.10 meters in the pole vault to place fifth. Fellow freshman
Alison Miller went over a career-best 1.65 meters as she placed seventh. Junior
Piper Doughton finished fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as she clocked 14:36.94. Junior
Kiley Smich sported a career-best time of 13.18 seconds in the 100-meter dash to finish fourth.
MEC CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES AND NOTES
The two best chances for the Mountain Lions to score points are the 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 10,000-meter run. Four athletes are in the top nine of the event: junior
Braden Ward (fifth), sophomore
Reese Hickey (seventh), junior
AJ Skeens (eighth) and junior
Andrew Tickle (ninth). Three CU athletes are in the top nine of the 10,000-meters with five in the top 15: Ward (third), sophomore
Brandon Canaday (eighth), Hickey (ninth), freshman
Johnny Walkup (12
th) and junior
Bramley Childress (15
th). Ward will triple as he is seeded 10
th in the 5,000-meter run. Redshirt freshman
Dom Collins is the defending MEC Champion in the indoor 60-meter dash. He has the fifth-fastest seed for the 100-meter dash (10.68 seconds). Senior
Richard Henry is seeded 13
th (11.02 seconds). Along with his high jump entry, Cunningham is eighth in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump. Sophomore
Dallas Ford will be in the long and triple jumps. Adebulu rounds out the top entries as he looks to improve upon his sixth-place finish in last year's decathlon.
Speaking of the multis, sophomore
Cassidy Hammonds is the defending MEC Champion in the women's heptathlon, and goes into this year's championship with a ranking of fifth. She was third at the indoor conference meet in the pentathlon. Sophomore
Cierra Parker is the defending MEC Champion in the high jump and is second ahead of this year's event. Freshman
Violet Wall will double up in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs. The most Mountain Lions in any women's event is the javelin where Hammonds is ranked fifth, junior
Meagan Poticher is eighth, sophomore
Gracie McAlister is 14
th and fellow sophomore
Jenna Webb earned the final spot of 16
th.Three Concord athletes made the final field in the pole vault: Lilly (13
