MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Concord University men's track & field scored 10 points and is tied for sixth after one day of competition at the Mountain East Conference Outdoor Championships at Mylan Park.
All 10 points for CU came in the 10,000-meter run late Sunday night.
Junior
Braden Ward placed fourth and netted five points as he clocked 32:05.55. Sophomore Brandon Cannady added four points with a personal-best time of 32:11.26 in the event. He finished fifth. Fellow sophomore
Reese Hickey was the final scoring runner in the 10,000-meters as he also sported a career-best time of 32:27.63 in eighth place.
Freshman
Johnny Walkup came through in 32:47.51 for tenth place, and junior
Bramley Childress ran 33:31.05 in 13
th.
At the halfway point of the men's decathlon, sophomore
Tobi Adebulu has 2,815 points in sixth place. Of his five events thus far, Adebulu scored 626 points in the 100-meter dash (12.13 seconds). He added 582 points in the 400-meter dash (55.42 seconds) and was the runner-up in the shot put with 553 points (11.11 meters).
Freshman
Myles Gurnee qualified for Tuesday's final in the 400-meter hurdles as he ran a prelim time of 56.73 seconds, a career best.
The decathlon resumes at 11:45 a.m. Monday with running event scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
