CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Concord University men's track & field team finished 13
th at the Flames Invite Friday and Saturday at Lee University as it scored 16 points.
Ten points came from graduate student
Issac Prather in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as he clocked 8:47.98 and finished first. He broke Jason Weitzel's program record from two years ago by three seconds, and in the process ran the second-fastest time in NCAA Division II this spring.
Junior
Caleb Hatcher just missed scoring points as he clocked 9:34.33 in the steeplechase and finished ninth. Sophomore
Ian Gardner did pick up six points for CU in the 400-meter dash, coming through in third place. Gardner sprinted 49.65 seconds.

Preston Prather and graduate student
Samuel Haynes put together three impressive performances in the 10,000-meter run. Zuchelli clocked 31:08.52. Prather stopped the timer at 31:30, and Haynes ran to a showing of 31:44. Those times rank third, fourth and fifth in the Mountain East Conference this season.
Graduate student
Cedric Drennen posted the seventh-best time in the MEC in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:49.01.
