The throwing duo of freshman
Chloe Cox and junior
Meagan Poticher led the way for CU at the Golden Eagle Invite in Charleston last Friday. Cox had a career-best throw of 33.70 meters in the discus while Poticher's throw of 33.34 meters was a season best. Both also moved up into the top 16 of the Mountain East Conference in the discus. Sophomore
Cassidy Hammonds clocked a season-best time of 12.45 seconds in the 100-meter dash as she finished sixth. Junior
Sara Turner was sixth in the 5,000-meter run as she came through in 21:32. Freshman
Avery Lilly cleared 1.85 meters in the pole vault which is 15
th in the MEC this spring.

Shawn Bennett had two top-20 showings at Charleston in the throws as he placed 16
th in the hammer (39.71 meters) and was 20
th in the discus (36.57 meters). Freshman
Zack Neal notched a pair of career-best times as he clocked 2:05.89 in the 800-meter run and stopped the timer at 4:25.81 in the 1,500-meter run. Sophomore
Daminn Cunningham went over 1.80 meters in the high jump as he was the highest individual finisher for Concord in seventh. Freshman
William Jackson ran a season-best time of 50.71 seconds in the 400-meter as he moved into 14
th in the MEC in the event.

Friday's meet is just one of two regular-season meets left for the Mountain Lions as the MEC Outdoor Championships loom April 26-28.
Four women's athletes toe the line in the 400-meter dash. Junior
Kiley Smich is just outside the top 16 of the quarter-mile in the MEC with a time of 1:02.35, ran last weekend at Charleston. She will be joined by A. Lilly, sophomore
Kendall Lilly and freshman
Violet Wall. Turner is squarely on the bubble of the 5,000-meters in the MEC, sitting 16
th. She will give the 5K a go this weekend along with junior
Larah Blevins, junior
Abbey Londeree and senior
Emma Londeree. Cox and Poticher seek to continue their ascent up the discus leaderboard in the MEC along with sophomore
Gracie McAlister. The Mountain Lions will run both a 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay this weekend. In the 4x100-meter relay will be junior
Zakiya Jackson, A. Lilly, K. Lilly and sophomore
Jenna Webb. The 4x400-meter relay will be made up of A. Lilly, K. Lilly, Smich and Wall.
