LEXINGTON, Va. – The Concord University men's track & field team recorded five top-10 individual finishes at the VMI Winter Classic Friday and Saturday.
Graduate student
Issac Prather broke his own school record in the mile run as he sported a runner-up time of 4:10.86. His time is two seconds faster than his previous school record from last winter. Additionally, the Summersville, West Virginia native set a Mountain East Conference record with Saturday's run.
Sophomore
Logan Zuchelli was eighth in the mile as he stopped the clock at 4:20.02.
Junior
Preston Prather ran to a time of 8:38.38 in the 3,000-meter run as he placed fifth. Graduate student
Cedric Drennen was two spots behind in a time of 8:42.13.
Senior
Alex Watty rounded out the top-10 finishes as he placed fifth in the 1,000-meter run, coming through in 2:31.37. His time was less than a second off the school record.
Junior
Caleb Hatcher clocked 15:40.41 in the 5,000-meter run to finish 11
th. Sophomore
Ian Gardner ran 50.89 seconds in the 400-meter dash, good enough for 16
th. And sophomore
Ethan Board rounded out the top individual performances as his time of 2:00.72 in the 800-meter run placed him 20
th.

Isaiah Jackson-Darby and Watty posted a time of 3:38.97 which was 15
th.
Next weekend's meets will be a split between the Liberty Open and the Camel City Classic.
