ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's and women's track & field teams continue the outdoor season at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Invite hosted by the University of Lynchburg Friday and Saturday.

Sophomore
Cassidy Hammonds put up the highest score in the heptathlon in the Mountain East Conference as she scored 4,578 points. She finished fifth overall at Charlotte. Freshman
Violet Wall sported a pair of top-five times in the MEC in the 800-meters (2:17.79) and 1,500-meters (4:46.66). Junior
Sara Turner clocked 20:04.09 in the 5,000-meter run as she recorded a top-10 time in the MEC. In the field events, junior
Meagan Poticher marked a distance of 30.37 meters in the javelin which is good enough for sixth in the MEC this season.

Braden Ward ran the fastest 10,000-meter time in the MEC this spring (31:23) and was named the MEC Athlete of the Week. Sophomore
Brandon Canaday clocked 32:20 while fellow sophomore
Reese Hickey came through in 32:28. Junior
Bramley Childress ran a personal-record time of 15:19.75 in the 5,000-meters. Junior
Shawn Bennett had three career-best showings in the throwing events: discus (35.16 meters), hammer (35.31 meters) and shot put (11.69 meters). Staying in the field events, sophomore
Daminn Cunningham sailed 6.53 meters in the long jump which was good enough for fourth in the conference.
LYNCHBURG ENTRIES
Wall lines up in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs once again this weekend. Freshmen Molly Jones and
Larissa Wickline will also be in both middle distance events. Fellow freshman
Avery Lilly is scheduled for the 800-meters while sophomore
Larah Blevins will toe the line in the 1,500-meters. Hammonds leads a trio of Mountain Lions in the 100-meter dash as junior
Zakiya Jackson and sophomore
Jenna Webb will be in the blocks as well. Off her impressive 5,000-meters, Turner will run the 10,000-meters with junior
Abbey Londeree and senior
Emma Londeree. And highlighting a field event, Poticher will be in the discus with sophomore

Dom Collins makes his outdoor debut in the 100-meter dash. Junior
