Concord Places Fourth at Pipestem

PIPESTEM, W.Va. – The Concord University women's golf team finished fourth at the Glenville State-Concord Invite that wrapped up Thursday afternoon at Pipestem State Park.

Concord shot rounds of 347 and 362 to finish with a team score of 709 for the 36-hole tournament.

The Mountain Lions were led by the duo of fifth-year senior Melinda Goda and sophomore Mary Denny. Goda carded rounds of 82 and 86 to finish with a total of 168, and an eighth-place showing. Denny was steady with an 85 Wednesday and an 84 Thursday to finish in a tie for ninth at 169.

Senior Taylor Bohan shot a career-best round of 86 Wednesday and followed it up a 96 on Thursday as she tied for 19th with a score of 182.

Freshman Anna Fry was fired off a 94 on Wednesday and came back with a 96 Thursday. Fry led the Mountain Lions in birdies for the tournament as she carded two of her three birdies on Wednesday's back nine—the two par 3s on back side at the 14th and 17th.

Freshman Josie Montgomery tied for 31st.

Junior Kaleigh Baisden was 34th while fellow junior Regan Carpenter was 36th.

Next up for Concord is the Mountain East Conference Championship at Avalon Lakes Golf Club in Warren, Ohio Monday through Wednesday.
