BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Concord University men's track & field team was fifth at the Jasmine Claggett Memorial Invite hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan Friday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions totaled 39 points. Glenville State was the team winner with 230 points.
Fifth-year senior
JT Turner scored points in four different throwing events. Turner threw 13.23 meters in the shot put to place third. He was fifth in the hammer throw (33.55 meters) and eighth in the discus (30.03 meters). He led three CU athletes in the top 11 of the javelin throw. Turner added a fifth-place showing by marking 33.99 meters. Freshman Jared Sandy tossed 24.82 meters to finish ninth. And freshman
Jonny Sweeney was 11
th (24.00 meters).
Fifth-year senior
Raheem Williams was a fourth-place finisher in the 800-meter run as he crossed in 2:01.67. He also led the way for Concord in the 1,500-meter run. Williams clocked 4:12.79 to finish fifth. Senior

th (4:23.59) while sophomore
Caleb Hatcher ran 4:28.44 to finish 13
th.
The Mountain Lions' top 4x400-meter relay team was Baldwin, sophomore
Isaiah Jackson-Darby, Williams and freshman
Zach Wilson. The quartet finished fifth in a showing of 3:59.58.
Sweeney was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles as he clocked 1:08.47. Fifth-year senior
Andrew Barbera timed 11:36.82 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to finish fifth.
CU's top performances were rounded out by freshman Terryn Patterson-Bryan running 23.95 seconds in the 200-meter dash to finish ninth, and junior
Robbie Cochran sprinting 54.15 seconds in the 400-meter dash to place 11
th.
Concord returns to the oval April 16 at Charleston's Golden Eagle Invite. Â
