ATHENS, W.Va. – With the 2025-26 school year officially wrapped up, the Concord University Sports Information Department will provide a rewind to some of the numbers and notes that were pertinent to the success of the Mountain Lions.
Each athletic program at Concord will have their own spotlights in this Emptying the Notebook series. The numbers and notes that may or may not have been used in previews and recaps throughout the season.
Shifting over to spring sports as men's and women's track & field is in the spotlight.
Emptying the Notebook on Men's and Women's Track & Field
1.70- Height cleared by
Cierra Parker in the high jump in the first outdoor season meet, helping her gain All-Atlantic Region honors for the second straight season.
2- Cassidy Hammonds is now the two-time defending champion in the Mountain East Conference outdoor heptathlon as she claimed her second title at the end of April.
2.00- High jump clearance in meters by
Daminn Cunningham at West Virginia Wesleyan, which was the top high jump performance in the MEC during the outdoor regular season.
3- Braden Ward scored points in a team-best three events at the MEC Championship as he finished in the top eight in the three longest events on the track: the 3,000-meter steeplechase, 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter.
4- School records broken by Hammonds between the indoor season—60-meter hurdles (9.27 seconds), long jump (5.71 meters) and pentathlon (3,369 points)—and the outdoor season—javelin (38.25 meters).
4:19.46- Time run by
Reese Hickey in the mile to break the outdoor school record at the Mikey Cox Distance Classic to open the outdoor season.
5- Dom Collins became the fifth All-American in men's track & field program history as he finished 12
th at the NCAA Division II Championship in March and earned All-American Second Team.
6- Personal-record times run by
Piper Doughton between the indoor and outdoor seasons: 800-meter, 1,500-meter, 3,00-meter meter, 3,000-meter steeplechase, 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter.
6.70- Time in seconds run by Collins as he sprinted his way to an MEC Indoor Championship in the 60-meter dash in February.
10.26- Long jump mark by
Kiley Smich as she scored points at the MEC Outdoor Championship—finishing eighth—despite competing in just five meets after she concluded her season on the basketball court.
103- Points scored by the CU women in finishing second as a team at the Concord Invite in April.
5,069- Career-best points scored by
Tobi Adebulu in the decathlon at the MEC Outdoor Championship. It helped Adebulu to a fifth-place finish.
