INDIANAPOLIS – Redshirt freshman Dom Collins of the Concord University men's track & field team has been officially selected to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships that will take place at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia March 13-14.

Collins was one of 18 athletes selected to compete in the 60-meter dash. He ran a time of 6.70 seconds at the Mountain East Conference Indoor Championships February 22 to punch his ticket to the national meet. He finished the indoor season tied for 14th in Division II in the 60-meters.

The Princeton, West Virginia native has already set the school record in the 60-meters, and he becomes the first CU men's track & field athlete to qualify for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships since RJ Anderson—the previous school record holder in the 60-meters—in 2012.

Collins' first race at the national meet is slated for 3:15 p.m. Friday, March 13 in Virginia Beach with the 60-meter prelims. The finals of the sprint race are 4:10 p.m. Saturday, March 14.
