MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Concord University men's track & field team the spring outdoor season Friday at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge inside Doug Shaw Stadium.
Due to severe weather, Saturday's events were canceled.
On Friday night, junior
Logan Zuchelli won the 10,000-meter run with a time of 31:44.73. Senior
Preston Prather was the runner-up with a showing of 32:14.13.
Two CU relays were in the top five

Alex Watty and junior
Zach Wilson combined for a time of 8:12.33 in the 4x800-meter relay as they were the runners-up. In the 4x400-meter relay, freshman
Garrett Hatcher, freshman
Devon Lemon, junior
Logan Ramsey and Watty placed fifth in a time of 3:58.03.
Graduate student
Gerard Hearst sprinted a time of 10.69 seconds, good enough for sixth, in the 100-meter dash finals. During the prelims of the 100-meters, junior
Ian Gardner clocked 11.35 seconds and freshman
Bradley Harris stopped the timer at 11.50 seconds.
Junior
Bryce Legg ran 17:01.95 in the 5,000-meter run to place 17
th.
For the Mountain Lions in the field events, junior
Jonny Sweeney marked 34.12 meters in the javelin to finish 22
nd. Freshman Shawn Bennett had a toss of 30.02 meters to place 24
th.
Concord is back in action March 14-16 at the 49er Classic hosted by Charlotte.
