Mary Denny tied for sixth place in the MEC Women's Golf Championships at Avalon Lakes Country Club Wednesday afternoon.
Denny found herself tied for ninth place after shooting a day one 81. She scored a 78 on day two to move her up to eighth place and qualify as an individual for the final day of the tournament. Denny moved move up two spots to tie for sixth place in the tournament with a three-day total of 240.
Denny birdied the par-4, second hole before stringing five pars together in the final six holes of the front nine. She added five even numbers on the back nine, signing a final round card of 81.
The Mount Hope, West Virginia native was one of the most consistent players on the course during the week with a tournament-high 34 pars.
Glenville State's Lexis Fickel won the individual crown on the first playoff hole, shooting 228 for 54 holes. GSU also won the team championship for the second consecutive year.
