WARREN, Ohio – The Concord University men's golf team placed 10
th at the Mountain East Conference Championship with cuts being made after 36 holes at Avalon Lakes Golf & Country Club.
Concord finishes the tournament with scores of 322 and 328 for a final showing of 650.
Though the Mountain Lions aren't one of the six teams advancing to Wednesday's championship flight, junior
Indiana Eades is one of three individuals to move on from non-advancing teams.
Eades is tied for 13
th with a 36-hole total of 156 (76, 80). Eades will tee off at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday morning.
After a tough stretch on the front nine, Eades birdied two of the first four holes on the back with a four on the par-5 11
th and a three on the par-4 13
th. He finished the afternoon by playing the second nine at even-par 36 as part of his 80. Eades added a birdie on the par-four seventh.
Fifth-year senior
Carson Proffitt tied for 32
nd with rounds of 80 and 82 to record a total of 162. Sophomore
Zan Hill had two birdies on the day with fours on the par 5s—sixth and 14
th. Hill was three strokes off Proffitt as he finished 40
th.
Fifth-year senior
Michael Growe Jr. placed 49
th with a total of 172, and junior
Peyton Watts shot 173 for the two rounds.
Five teams are within six strokes of defending champion Davis & Elkins as the Senators have shot rounds of 309 and 299 for 608.
West Virginia Wesleyan's Francisco Taboada is the only player under par for the tournament after scores of 72 and 69. He takes a five-shot lead into Wednesday's final round.
