CALABASH, N.C. – The Concord University men's golf team finished 16
th at the Battle of Brunswick in their first tournament of the spring season.

CU had a 54-hole team total of 977 as the Mountain Lions scored 328, 321 and 328.
Freshman
Jeremy Nguyen was the top Concord player as he carded rounds of 77, 79 and 81. He had six birdies in the tournament with three coming in the middle round Friday. He started the day with a birdie on the par-4, first hole. Nguyen finished the front nine with a red number and his third birdie during the second round was on the par-3, 198-yard 13
th.
Freshman
Henry Lewis had a pair of 84s wrapped around a second round 82. Sophomore
Jonah Willson rebounded from an opening-round 89 to shoot 78 and 83. Freshman
Jackson Williams posted scores of 88, 80 and 82.
And in his collegiate debut, freshman
Dylan Canterbury had scores of 81, 93 and 83.
Longwood's Josh Cummins was one stroke better than Bluefield State's Joseph Emery, 214-215, for the individual medalist.
The team winner was Charleston by six shots over Bluefield State, 890-896.
Concord is right back on the course Monday and Tuesday at the Appalachian Collegiate in Blacksburg, Virginia. Â
