2021 REVIEW
Throughout the fall and spring seasons, Concord had five top-five team finishes with the highest coming at the Concord Tri-Match in late March. The Mountain Lions were seventh at the MEC Championship in early October. Individually, sophomore
Mary Denny made her way onto All-MEC Honorable Mention in her first collegiate season.
2022 SCHEDULE
The first tournament for the Maroon and Gray will be the Charleston Invite September 12-13 at Edgewood Country Club. And the middle of September will be busy for Concord as it travels to Erie, Pennsylvania for the Mercyhurst Invite September 16-17 followed by the Michael Corbett Classic hosted by Gannon September 18-19. CU hosts the Concord-Glenville State Invite with GSU at Pipestem State Park September 28-29, which is the final tune-up before the MEC Championship October 3-5 at Avalon Lakes in Warren, Ohio. The fall slate wraps up October 10-11 at Canaan Valley for the Davis & Elkins Invite.
THE RETURNERS
Along with Denny, fifth-year senior
Melinda Goda has made her way onto the All-MEC Teams twice in her career—both as second team selections in 2019 and 2021. Seniors
Taylor Bohan and
Gretchen Carr have played in virtually every round since they were freshmen. Carr averaged 97.7 last season while Bohan closed the spring with a career-best 90 at The Greenbrier's Meadows Course. Junior
Kaleigh Baisden missed only three rounds in 2021-22. And fellow junior
Regan Carpenter played in three rounds last season.
THE NEWCOMERS
Head coach
Madison Heller begins her first season in charge of the program, replacing
Tesla Southcott, who slides over to head women's basketball coach for 2022-23. Before assuming her current role, Southcott recruited freshmen
Anna Fry (Wayne, W.Va./Wayne HS) and
Josie Montgomery (Chloe, W.Va./Calhoun County) to the program.
