ALLENDALE, Mich. – Senior
Issac Prather of the Concord University men's track & field team placed 10
th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Prather clocked a time of 8:57.85, and earned Second Team All-American in the process. The Summersville, West Virginia native picks up All-American honors in the steeplechase for a second straight year. He also becomes the second athlete in program history with multiple All-American honors.
Prather teetered between sixth and eighth in the early stages of the race. Near the end of the race, Prather was holding steady between eighth and ninth before finishing 10
th in the competition.
Northwest Missouri State's Reece Smith surged in the final 600 meters of the race to claim the win by nine seconds in a showing of 8:33.64.
Prather will now turn his attention towards the 5,000-meter run 5:00 p.m. Saturday at Grand Valley State.
