ATHENS, W.Va. – After a two-week break, the Concord University men's and women's track & field teams return to action with the opening of the outdoor schedule at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge Friday and Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
Both the men's and women's team finished fifth at the Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in February.
The men's action was highlighted by senior
Issac Prather winning the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:21.82. Sophomore
Preston Prather (fifth), senior
Cedric Drennen (sixth) and freshman
Logan Zuchelli (seventh) all scored points in the event. CU's distance medley relay of freshman
Ethan Board, Drennen, I. Prather and junior
Alex Watty finished as the runners-up with the quartet earning USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Region honors for their time of 10:11.25. Freshman
Terryn Patterson-Bryant was fourth in the 60-meter dash as he clocked 7.06 seconds. I. Prather was the runner-up in the 5,000-meters as he ran a school record time of 14:22.26. And Zuchelli finished on the podium by crossing in third (14:29.31).
Junior
Emily Wallace was the MEC Champion in the mile as she recorded a program-best time of 5:04.34. Wallace was an all-region selection in the event. Fellow junior
Hannah Altizer was the runner-up in the mile as she crossed in 5:10.42. Additionally, Altizer was top five in both the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter runs. Wallace teamed up with freshman

Jada Strachan and fifth-year senior
Josea Smith to finish second in the distance medley relay as they set a school record in 12:33.36. Junior
Maggie Thompson just missed a podium finish as she marked 10.52 in the triple jump, finishing fourth.

After an All-American season in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 2021, I. Prather will line up in the event this weekend along with his brother, Preston, and Zuchelli. In other distance action, Concord will have five in the 5,000-meters. The group includes senior

Nate Leichner. Patterson-Bryant leads the CU field in the 200-meter dash. Other Mountain Lions in the event include freshman

Hunter Thomas. After finishing fifth in the 800-meter run at the MEC Championships, Watty will be in the event this weekend with sophomore

Wallace will be in the 1,500-meters to begin her outdoor campaign as Concord lines up freshmen
