ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University Athletic Department has announced Megan Belcher as the new head coach for the Concord cheerleading program.

She brings more than two decades of experience in competitive cheerleading, athlete development, choreography and program leadership as she is the founder and owner of Dynasty Athletics in nearby Princeton. She has operated the full-service competitive cheerleading and tumbling program since 2002.

At Dynasty, she has developed athletes from the beginner stages through the collegiate levels while earning more than 115 national championship titles and more than 200 regional and sectional championships. She has experience with organizations such as UCA, NCA, Varsity, CCA, Global Cheer, Americheer and TCLM to name a few.

"I'm incredibly honored to return to Concord University in this role," said Belcher. "Athens has always been home to me, and I'm excited for the opportunity to lead, mentor, and build a program that represents the pride, energy and tradition of the community."

Belcher is a Concord alumna and lifelong resident of the Athens area.

"I'm committed to building a strong, disciplined and energetic program that represents Concord University with pride both on the sidelines and on the competition floor."

In addition to her work with Dynasty, Belcher also serves as the volunteer director of the Mercer County Special Olympics—one of the top community service projects for the Concord Athletic Department. She re-established the program in 2002 and has grown the program in participation, helped expand community involvement and coordinated regional competitions and events. She has also advocated for inclusive opportunities for athletes of all ability levels.

"Megan is a great addition to the athletic department," Concord Athletic Director Luke Duffy said. "Having worked with Megan on the special Olympic side of things, she will have the best interests of our athletes in mind in everything she does with the cheerleading program."

Belcher has also been recognized as a WVSSAC cheer choreographer and for her extensive professional network and leadership within the cheer community.
