BOUNCE BACK
After a tough opening weekend in conference play, Concord will look to get right at home. Despite posting a 1-3 record over the four games this past weekend, the Mountain Lions only lost those three games by a combined seven runs. Game one against Frostburg State saw an explosive 13-2 win for Concord. In the remaining three games, the Mountain Lion pitching was very solid but the bats fell cold with runners in scoring position. CU has a great opportunity to respond with two games against both Salem and Point Park.

CONTINUE TO PRODUCE
Concord's offense is clicking at a really high level. Here's how they rank compared to the rest of the MEC. The Mountain Lions post a .266 team batting average (fourth), have scored 118 runs (second), hit 27 doubles (third), five triples (T-first), have 104 RBI (second), and have drawn 97 walks (first). Individually, Concord's offense is led by the trio of Matthew DiSanti, Nick DiSanti and Korbin Bostic. M. DiSanti has 24 hits on the season (T-second) and has 17 RBI (fourth). The senior infielder leads Concord with a .364 batting average. N. DiSanti has logged 22 hits (T-seventh) and is coming off one of his best performances of the year, where he went 3-for-3 with four RBI in the 13-2 win over Frostburg State. Bostic has brought big power to the CU lineup, hitting four home runs (T-second) and leading the MEC in RBI with 21. On the bump, redshirt sophomore arm Kaden Varela-Payne has been the conference's best strikeout artist with 35 punchouts in six starts.

GOOD TO BE HOME
The Mountain Lions will be excited to get back to their home turf as Anderson Field has been a tough place to play under Head Coach Drew Bailey. Under Bailey, Concord posts a 22-14 record at home. This season, four of CU's six wins have come in Athens and it'll be a great opportunity for the Mountain Lions to get back on track as they get into the thick of conference season.

TOURNAMENT REVENGE
While the history between Point Park and Concord is very limited, the Mountain Lions have a chance to avenge their loss to the Pioneers from last year's MEC Tournament. Point Park cruised to a 15-5 victory over CU and put Concord into an elimination match against Fairmont State which ultimately ended the 2025 season. M. DiSanti launched a two-run homer in the contest. Senior pitcher Logan Darrow had a career-best eight strikeouts as he started the conference tournament opener.

SCOUTING THE SALEM TIGERS
Salem is having a really solid start to the 2026 season, holding a 14-7 record. The Tigers have five separate hitters with a batting average greater than .300 and are a very balanced offense. Of Salem's 14 wins, 13 of them have come at home and the other has come in a neutral site game. In the four road games they have played, Salem is 0-4.

SCOUTING THE POINT PARK PIONEERS
Coming off a 41-13 season in which they won the MEC Championship, Point Park is off to a solid start in 2026. They hold an 8-6 record and are 3-1 in conference play. On offense, the Pioneers are led by sophomore infielder Olindo Pezzone. Pezzone holds a .414 batting average, has hit five home runs and has 13 RBI. Where the Pioneers shine is in their pitching staff. Just this past weekend, senior pitcher Harold Boyce tossed a seven inning no-hitter in just 62 pitches. Boyce tops the MEC in opponent batting average, as hitters are batting just .164 against him.
