ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University Athletic Department and Athletic Director
Luke Duffy have announced the hiring of
Noah Rhodes as the program's new women's soccer head coach.
Rhodes, a native of Williamson, West Virginia—in Mingo County, returns to southern West Virginia after a well-traveled career as an assistant coach.
Most recently, Rhodes served as an assistant coach and director of operations for the women's soccer program at the University of South Florida, a Division I program in Tampa, Florida. He spent three seasons at USF where the Bulls were the regular-season runners-up in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. USF was also in the AAC Tournament Semifinals in 2024 and 2025.
"I am thankful and excited to be chosen to lead the Concord women's soccer program and to build upon the successful foundation that Coach Duffy has established," Rhodes said. "I want to thank Athletic Director
Luke Duffy, President Dr. Bethany Meighen and the entire search committee for this opportunity. I look forward to getting started with the team and working together towards excellence every day."
Prior to his time in the Sunshine State, Rhodes was an assistant coach for the men's soccer program at Washington & Jefferson, a Division III school in western Pennsylvania during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He focused on goalkeepers at W&J, but assisted with all aspects of the program.
Along with his collegiate experience, Rhodes has coached various club teams in Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay.
"We look forward to Coach Rhodes continuing the rich tradition of Concord women's soccer," Duffy said. "He brings a vast range of experience and knowledge to Athens, and I know him being from southern West Virginia he will take great pride in the women's soccer program being successful and competing for championships."
Rhodes got his start in coaching at his high school alma mater, Mingo Central, where he was the head boys' coach from 2016-19.
"The opportunity to return home to southern West Virginia certainly feels like a full circle moment from me and my wife," Rhodes said. "We are happy to be back in the mountains and look forward to being part of the Concord community."
Among the accolades Rhodes has earned throughout his coaching career include being named to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches 30 under 30 and being named the West Virginia High School Region III Boys Coach of the Year in 2019. He was also a finalist for West Virginia High School Coach of the Year in 2019.
Rhodes received his bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in psychology. He holds master's degrees from West Virginia in sport coaching and South Florida in physical education.
