ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University women's soccer first-year head coach
Noah Rhodes has announced the program's schedule for the fall.
The 2026 season gets underway August 27 when the Mountain Lions face Catawba on the road. CU continues on the road August 29 when they oppose another South Atlantic Conference and Southeast Regional contender Lenoir-Rhyne. The pair of games in August serve as Concord's only non-conference contests of the year.
The 16-game Mountain East Conference slate starts September 6 when the Maroon and Gray travels to Charleston—the conference schedule consists of CU playing every team in the MEC South Division twice, Charleston, Glenville State, Shawnee State, West Virginia State and West Virginia Wesleyan, and each team in the MEC North once, Davis & Elkins, Fairmont State, Frostburg State, Point Park, West Liberty and Wheeling.
Concord has its home opener September 9 versus West Virginia Wesleyan that is followed by a second straight home game against MEC newcomer Shawnee State September 13. The Mountain Lions pay a visit to West Virginia State September 16 before wrapping up the first leg of MEC South play with a home date versus Glenville State September 20.
Point Park is the first MEC North school on the schedule as CU concludes a two-game homestand September 23. The final two games of September are at Wheeling (September 27) and home against Frostburg State (September 30).
October opens with consecutive road games at Davis & Elkins (October 4) and West Liberty (October 7). Fairmont State is the next home opponent October 11.
After hosting West Virginia State October 14, three of the final four games of the year are on the road: Glenville State (October 18), West Virginia Wesleyan (October 21) and Shawnee State (October 28).
The game at SSU is CU's final regular season as the Mountain Lions host Charleston prior to on October 25.
SCHEDULE NOTES
-The games against Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne will be CU's first time playing schools from the South Atlantic Conference since tying Wingate, 1-1, during the 2018 season.
-Both of Concord's games against Charleston in 2025 finished in draws—a scoreless draw at UC in late September before a 3-3 at Callaghan Stadium in late October.
-The Mountain Lions have won eight straight games versus West Virginia Wesleyan dating back to September 2022. CU has scored at least two goals in each win.
-Concord will try to stop a four-game losing streak against Fairmont State when the Fighting Falcons visit in October. All four losses have been by one goal to the defending MEC Champions, including a 2-1 loss in the MEC Semifinals last fall and a 3-2 defeat during the regular season.
