KEEP HITTING
Senior outfielder Korbin Bostic recorded four hits in the weekend series at Millersville as he also clubbed his team-best fourth home run of the year in the final game of the three-game set. In the series finale, the Logan, West Virginia native had three hits which was his second three-hit contest of 2026, tying him with senior infielder Matthew DiSanti for the team lead in three-hit games. Bostic starts conference play leading the MEC in RBI (20) while being tied for first in home runs and ranking fourth in batting average (.429). Bostic is nearly halfway to his hit total from last year when he finished with 48. Bostic has 18 hits in 16 games this spring.

MAKING STRIDES
Freshman pitcher Jonah Adams was dealt a tough loss at Millersville Saturday afternoon, despite going five innings and only allowing two runs. In three of Adams' five starts this season, the Mount Airy, North Carolina native has allowed two earned runs or fewer. Saturday also marked the third start this year for Adams in which he has allowed five hits or fewer. He is second on the team in strikeouts (13) which is tied for 13th in the MEC. Sophomore pitcher Kaden Varela-Payne leads the MEC in strikeouts with 31. Varela-Payne has tallied at least five strikeouts in his last four starts, including six at Millersville.

BEATING THE BOBCATS
CU swept a doubleheader from Frostburg State last season, winning 3-2 and 10-5 in Athens. The senior catcher duo of Austin Hear and Kaden Swaim were responsible for all the offense in the 3-2 victory. Swaim hit a game-tying home run in the third inning before Hear drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh. Senior pitcher Logan Darrow was the winning pitcher with three innings of shutout relief. Bostic and junior infielder Nick DiSanti combined for six RBI in Concord's 10-5 win. The Mountain Lions have lost three straight road games against Frostburg State, dating back to a 7-5 win in April 2022 at FSU.

REVENGE GAME
Concord had its season ended by Fairmont State in last year's MEC Tournament. The Mountain Lions are seeking to end a stretch of games where they have lost three of the last four games to FSU. Concord split a doubleheader with the Fighting Falcons last season, winning the first game 11-0 before losing 12-9. Junior pitcher Jake Robinson provided six shutout innings as he limited Fairmont State to four hits while striking out seven. Bostic was 5-for-7 with three doubles against Fairmont State during the regular season. Hear and Swaim each homered in the twinbill with the Fighting Falcons. CU's last visit to FSU resulted in a 1-1 record, winning 7-6 in extra innings before losing 4-1 in 2024.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Frostburg State has played one of the most challenging schedules in the Atlantic Region so far, playing West Chester four times as well as a three-game set against Ashland. Jackson Schalick is hitting .391 with a home run and 12 RBI. He has also swiped four bases. Jake Holler, another All-MEC performer from last season, is hitting .333 with three homers and 13 RBI. FSU's team ERA is 4.58—the only team in the conference with an ERA below 5.00. Zach Dodson's ERA is 2.75 as he has two wins on the mound. Hunter Layhew sports an ERA of 3.66 and has also bagged two wins.

SCOUTING THE FIGHTING FALCONS
After making the NCAA Tournament last season, Fairmont State's potent offense was ravaged by graduation and departures. Seven of the top eight hitters are gone with the only regular starter being Cameron Moore. Despite all the lost production, FSU is still hitting .308. Bryont Green has an average of .465 with 12. Moor
e is hitting .378 with 10 RBI. Cam Cole is second in the MEC with nine stolen bases.  Caden Goodwin has an ERA of 4.76 to go with 14 strikeouts in 17 innings.
