NEW ORLEANS – The Concord University men's cross country team has been pegged fourth in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Regional Poll, the organization released Tuesday afternoon.
Charleston, Shippensburg and Davis & Elkins remained unchanged at the top of the poll. Concord and Kutztown rounded out the top five. West Chester was sixth with East Stroudsburg and Slippery Rock seventh and eighth. West Liberty and Glenville State, two Mountain East Conference schools, ranked out the rankings.
The Mountain Lions move up one spot in the regional rankings from their preseason rank of five. Concord has competed in two meets thus far, finishing second at the Catawba Fleet Feet Invite to open the season September 6. CU was sixth among non-Division I schools at the highly-competitive Southern Showcase this past weekend.
Concord is off from action until October 4 when it runs at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
