HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Concord University men's cross country team placed 32
nd at the Southern Showcase Friday morning at John Hunt Park.
CU was sixth of the non-Division I teams in the field. The field included 48 different teams. Concord scored 896 points.
The official results were delayed until Saturday morning due to a timing error at the meet.
Junior
Braden Ward clocked 25:07 for the 8,000-meter course—a pace of just over five minutes per mile. Sophomore
Brandon Canaday came through in 26:04 while junior
AJ Skeens was four seconds back of Canaday. Junior
Bramley Childress stopped the clock at 26:28.
The final scoring runner for the Mountain Lions was sophomore
Joshua Uhrig who posted a time of 26:35. Freshman
Johnny Walkup and junior
Andrew Tickle both ran 26:44 in the sixth and seventh spots for CU.
Rounding out the lineup for the Mountain Lions were sophomore Reese hickey (27:05) and graduate student
Connor Cormack (28:22).
Concord will be off until October 4 when it competes at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
