NEW ORLEANS – The Concord University men's cross country team has been pegged fourth in this week's edition of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Regional Rankings.
The Mountain Lions moved up in the poll for a second consecutive week as they climbed one spot despite not competing. CU was slated to race at Lehigh's Paul Short Run Friday, but the meet was canceled due to unseasonable and dangerous heat in eastern Pennsylvania.
Charleston remained atop the poll. Point Park, Fayetteville State, Concord and West Chester all moved up one spot in the poll to round the top five. The movement was due to Shippensburg falling from second to sixth in the poll. Davis & Elkins, Kutztown, East Stroudsburg and Slippery Rock all remained n their respective spots from last week to round out the rankings.
Concord is off this weekend, but will be back on the course October 16 at the Concord Alumni Invite at nearby Pipestem State Park. Â
