SALISBURY, N.C. – The Concord University men's cross country team finished second at the Catawba Fleet Feet Invite Saturday morning at Salisbury Community Park.
CU scored 54 points as it edged Lincoln Memorial (58 points) for third place. Host Catawba won with 20 points. CC's Will Lyons was the individual winner in a time of 26:39
Junior
Braden Ward clocked 27:00 to finish fifth. Fellow junior
AJ Skeens recorded a top-10 finish by placing eighth in a showing of 27:35 for the 8,000-meter course. Sophomore
Reese Hickey went under 28 minutes with a time of 27:52. He finished 11
th.
The final two scoring runners for Concord were sophomore
Brandon Canaday who finished 14
th, stopping the clock at 28:08, and freshman
Johnny Walkup who ran 28:28 to finish 18
th. Sophomore
Joshua Uhrig clocked 28:30 to place 19
th.

CU makes the long trek to Huntsville, Alabama Friday for the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State.
