ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University head women's soccer coach
Luke Duffy has announced the program's schedule for the 2025 season as he released Thursday morning.
Concord is slated for 18 games this fall with 15 coming against Mountain East Conference competition and the remaining three games versus non-conference foes.
The Mountain Lions start the season with a prolonged four-game homestand. CU opens the campaign with regional powerhouses Kutztown and Gannon, September 4 and 6 at Callaghan Stadium. The Kutztown game on September 4 will kickoff at 2:00 p.m. while the contest versus Gannon gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
Concord welcomes West Virginia Wesleyan to Athens for the first MEC contest September 13 before the homestand wraps up against Glenville State September 17.
The Maroon and Gray plays each of the other five MEC South Division schools in a double round-robin format while facing the four MEC North teams once to compromise the conference slate.
The first road game for CU is against Davis & Elkins September 21 before traveling to Charleston September 24. And the first leg of the MEC South schedule concludes at home versus West Virginia State September 28.
A rematch from last year's MEC Tournament Quarterfinal highlights the start of October as well as the beginning of the MEC North swing as Fairmont State comes to Callaghan Stadium October 1. Â
CU's final non-conference game will be October 5 at Salem, ahead of Concord returning to southern West Virginia to oppose Wheeling October 8.
Back-to-back stiff road tests awaits the Mountain Lions when they face Frostburg State (October 11) and Point Park (October 15). A home date with West Liberty is slate for October 18.
Concord's second time through the MEC South sees the Maroon and Gray face two NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago in Charleston (October 22) and West Virginia State (October 26).
The Mountain Lions' final home game is October 29 versus Davis & Elkins with the season wrapping up on the road against West Virginia Wesleyan (November 2) and Glenville State (November 5).
SCHEDULE NOTES
-Concord's four-game homestand during the season will be the longest regular-season homestand since 2019—the Mountain Lions did play six consecutive home games during the 2021 MEC and NCAA Tournament postseason.
-The Mountain Lions' highest-scoring MEC game of the season last year was an 8-3 win at West Liberty. Six different players accounted for goals in the contest.
-In facing Gannon, CU will go upagainst a squad that has made it to at least the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in each of the three seasons. Meanwhile, Kutztown has made the Round of 32 in each of the last three years.
