AMONG THE LEAGUE LEADERS
The Mountain Lions return multiple players that finished the season among the best in the Mountain East Conference. Marika Svensson (10) and Tiana Campbell (nine) ended the season top ten in goals and Caitlin Webster notched the third most assists in the MEC.
DEFENDING OUR TURF
Since 2017, Concord has been nearly unbeatable at home as opponents have struggled to find wins. CU has put up a home record of 48-13-6 and will start the season at home for the first time since 2022, where they defeated Gannon 3-2.
TAKING ON THE BEST
Concord opens the season facing two juggernauts of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Both Gannon and Kutztown played in the NCAA Division II Tournament last season, with Kutztown falling in the second round to Gannon. Gannon's season would end in the Sweet 16 to PSAC foe, Shepherd. CU have faced these two squads five times over the last three seasons with a record of 1-4, and one of the teams was ranked in every single one of those occasions.
YOUTH MOVEMENT
The Mountain Lions will have to replace five seniors from their starting lineup a season ago. They return seven players that started double digit games, but there will be plenty of opportunities for young players on the squad. Sophomore defender Ella Rowell, sophomore midfielder Marika Svensson, and junior forward Caitlin Webster were the only Mountain Lions to start all 19 games a season ago.
TERRIFFIC TIANA
Tiana Campbell went on a tear to end the season last year, scoring five of her nine goals in the last six games of the season. Of Campbell's nine goals, eight came in the form of braces with two-goal games against Davis & Elkins, Salem, West Virginia State, and West Virginia Wesleyan.
SCOUTING THE KUTZTOWN BEARS
Kutztown will look to build on an excellent 2024 campaign that saw them compete in the PSAC Championship game and win an NCAA Tournament game before falling to Gannon. They return their leading goal scorer, Corinne Morgan, who netted 10 goals for the Bears last season. However, this year's Kutztown team will have to find new solutions to try and replace five PSAC All-Conference players from a season ago.
SCOUTING THE GANNON GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Gannon starts the season inside the NCAA Division II top 25, at number 10. Last season was extremely memorable for the Golden Knights, topping the PSAC West in the regular season and hosting the first two rounds of the NCAA Division II Tournament. They return six of their seven PSAC All-Conference First Team selections including their top two goal scorers, Brooklyn Respecki and Grace Emanuel. The Golden Knights are predicted to finish first in the PSAC West in 2025.
