2025 Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced the 2025 football schedule Wednesday afternoon.
And with the conference release, the Concord University football team and first-year head coach Cody Edwards has released the 2025 schedule for the Mountain Lions that features 11 games.
CU will only play four games at home: September 27 vs. West Liberty, October 11 vs. West Virginia State (Homecoming), October 25 vs. West Virginia Wesleyan and November 8 vs. Fairmont State. The other seven games will be on the road.
The season gets started during week zero of the season against regional rival UVa.-Wise August 30. The Mountain Lions travel across Mercer County for a September 6 showdown with Bluefield State at Mitchell Stadium. After a bye week, the early-season, three-game road trip wraps up with the MEC opener at Charleston September 20.
The month of October opens at Frostburg State as CU makes the trip to western Maryland for a second straight season October 4. With Homecoming in the rear view, the Maroon and Gray clashes with Glenville State in a road matchup—due to GSU's renovations of Morris Stadium, the location of the game will be announced at a later date.
After the West Virginia Wesleyan contest, the final month of the season begins at Wheeling before the Concord closes the home slate against Fairmont State. And a non-conference game concludes the season as CU travels to Ferrum College to take on the Panthers for the first time in program history November 15.
All game times will be announced later in the summer. Additionally, the MEC will explore opportunities for each school to possibly play Thursday night games.
