BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Concord University men's track & field team finished up the regular season of the outdoor season Friday afternoon at the Jasmine Claggett Memorial Invite hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan at Cebe Ross Field.
CU picked up two event wins during the afternoon.
Sophomore
Bramley Childress started the meet with a victory in the 10,000-meter run as he clocked 33:26.35. Later in the meet, fellow sophomore
Braden Ward was the winner in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:52.79.
Junior
Connor Cormack crossed in a career-best time of 10:45.13 which was fifth in the field.
Freshman
Aaron Miller clocked a personal-record time of 50.52 seconds in the 400-meter dash as he was the runner-up in the event. CU also received a runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter run from senior
Luke Ruhnke as he sported a showing of 20:31.97.
Ruhnke was on Concord's 4x400-meter relay team that placed fourth. The quartet of Cormack, senior
Madoc Lathroum, senior
Bryce Legg and Ruhnke combined for a time of 4:25.29.
Senior
Ian Gardner checked in third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.09 seconds. In other sprint action, junior Devon Banks was fifth in the 100-meter dash as he came through in 11.26 seconds.
And rounding out the top five finishers for the Mountain Lions was freshman
Tobi Adebulu in the pole vault as he cleared 2.60 meters to place fifth.
The next time out for Concord will be the Mountain East Conference Championships April 27-29 at Mylan Park in Morgantown, West Virginia. Â
