FROM THE SPOT
Concord has been far and away the best team in the Mountain East Conference at drawing and converting penalty kicks. The Mountain Lions have drawn six penalty kicks in 2025, converting five of their chances from the penalty spot. Junior forward Dominique Malhomme and senior midfielder Mahler Santi Possu lead the Mountain Lions as they are both 2-2 on penalty kicks this season. Concord has drawn six of the 12 penalty kicks awarded to MEC teams and have scored five of the seven penalty kicks converted by conference teams.

SECOND TRIP THROUGH
CU is beginning their sweep through MEC competition as they have already played each team at least one time. Frostburg State and Point Park were their first two conference matchups of the season, and the Mountain Lions picked up victories in each bout. Against the Bobcats, Possu and senior forward Richard Henry bagged goals in the 2-1 victory. Looking back at the 4-0 win against the Pioneers, senior defender Kai Forsyth notched a brace, senior defender Julian Correa scored from the penalty spot, and junior forward Jaden McKree scored his first goal of the season.

SURGING FORM
The Maroon and Gray have won four straight games headed into two more MEC tilts. This is tied for the longest winning streak of the season as they won four games to start the 2025 season. Over the last four games, Concord is outsourcing opponents 9-3. A season ago, Concord ripped off a program-best 11 straight wins that took them all the way to the MEC Championship game.

AFTER THE BREAK
The Mountain Lions have been a superb offense in 2025, but seem to get even better in the second half of contests. Fifteen of Concord's 22 goals this year have been scored in the second half. In their 10 games played this season, the Mountain Lions have scored multiple second half goals in four of them. Against their upcoming opponents, they scored one second half goal against Frostburg State and three against Point Park.

SCOUTING THE FROSTBURG STATE BOBCATS
Frostburg State currently sits middle of the pack in the MEC after a 3-5-2 start to the season. FSU's three wins on the season have come against West Liberty, West Virginia Wesleyan, and Wheeling with a combined score of 10-2. Outside of those three matches, it's been tough for the Bobcats to find lots of success. Offensively, they are led by sophomore midfielder Dominic Good and senior forward Carlos Quintero Rivas who have combined for five of their 13 goals.

SCOUTING THE POINT PARK PIONEERS
Point Park is right in that log jam in the top half of the conference. With no draws on the season, the Pioneers have been a boom or bust unit thus far. Led by graduate student midfielder Fridolin Gefrorer who's netted them four goals, the Pioneers have been unbeaten at home. That's where Concord will see them next as they look for another positive result at Highmark Stadium, following a 2-1 victory in 2024.
