LAST TIME OUT
The Mountain Lion men finished sixth among non-Division I teams at the highly-competitive Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama September 12. Junior Braden Ward put together the best race of his CU career with a time of 25:07 for the 8,000-meter course. He finished inside the top 100, out of 459 runners. Sophomore Brandon Canaday clocked 26:04. Junior AJ Skeens was four seconds behind Canaday. The final two in the top five for the Mountain Lions were junior Bramley Childress (26:28) and sophomore Joshua Uhrig (26:35).

Freshman Violet Wall led the Concord women as she broke 19 minutes for the 5,000-meter course, stopping the clock at 18:57. Senior Katy Walkup came through in 19:21. Junior Sara Turner was safely under 20 minutes as she ran 19:44. Freshman Avery Lilly completed the Alabama course in 20:16, and sophomore Kate Kelly clocked 20:43. Concord was eighth among non-Division I schools.

GREATER LOUISVILLE CLASSIC
Saturday will be the first time CU competes in Louisville since the 2016 season. The Mountain Lions ran at the Greater Louisville Classic from 2009-11 before taking a five-year hiatus.
Though Concord will not race against any Division II teams ranked in their respective region, the Mountain Lion men will see some of the top Division III teams in their race. Centre, John Carroll, Kenyon, Manchester, Mount Union, Otterbein and Trine are all ranked in the top 10 of the Division III Great Lakes Region. North Central is the second ranked team in the Midwest Region as well as the sixth-ranked team nationally in Division III. Additionally, Mountain East Conference schools West Liberty and West Virginia Wesleyan are in CU's race.

Like the men, the Concord women get some of the best Division III competition in the nation. Trine is a top 20 team in Division III. And the regionally-ranked competition for CU includes Centre, DePauw and John Carroll. The Mountain Lions get a look at West Liberty and West Virginia Wesleyan as well.
The fastest times for Concord athletes at Louisville are Robby Peters (25:41/2010) and Jason Weitzel (25:48/2016) for the men. The CU women have never run a 6,000-meter course at Louisville.
