LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Concord University men's cross country team placed 14
th at the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday morning at EP Tom Sawyer Park.
The Mountain Lions scored 459 points in a field of 41 teams. Division III Otterbein was the winning team with 153 points. The individual winner was Clay Peets of St. Bonaventure.
Juniors
AJ Skeens and
Braden Ward both ran 26:10 for the 8,000-meter course with Skeens crossing in 68
th and Ward finishing 69
th—there were 417 runners in the field.
Fellow junior
Bramley Childress was in the top 100 as he placed 94
th in a time of 26:22. Sophomore
Reese Hickey was six seconds back of Childress as he crossed in 106
th. Freshman
Johnny Walkup completed the scoring for the Mountain Lions as he finished in 26:47.
Junior
Andrew Tickle clocked 27:04. Sophomore
Joshua Uhrig completed the field for Concord as he sported a time of 27:10.
Of the 41 teams in the field, Concord had the smallest spread in the field among its scoring runners with a 37-second spread between Skeens and Walkup.
The Mountain Lions host their annual home meet, the Concord Alumni Invite October 10 at Pipestem State Park.
