CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Concord University women's track & field team finished ninth at the Golden Eagle Invite hosted by Charleston at Laidley Field.
CU recorded 22 points. Charleston was the top team with 176 points.
The Mountain Lions received third and fourth-place finishes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Freshman
Hayley Collins came through in 14:23.14 to finish third while sophomore
Colette Lindley placed fourth in 15:29.34.
In other distance action, sophomore
Katy Walkup was fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:21.56 which is fourth fastest in the Mountain East Conference this season. Fellow sophomore
Emma Londeree clocked a personal-record time of 19:57.49 as she placed ninth. Freshman
Sara Turner was 10
th in a showing of 20:04.44. And freshman
Abbey Londeree clocked 22:04.02 to claim 15
th.
Junior
Alexis Anzevino scored points for CU in the 400-meter hurdles as she finished eighth in 1:19.43. Collins stopped the timer at 1:19.77 to claim ninth, and junior
Shyanna James was 11
th in 1:31.09.
Freshman
Charlotte McGinnis was eighth in the 800-meter run as she clocked a time of 2:47.26. Junior
Kaylee Dixon was in the top 10 as she recorded a time of 2:57.69. Rounding out the scorers for the Mountain Lions was freshman
Nadiyah Abdussalaam in the long jump as she marked 4.69 meters to place fourth.
Senior
Taylor Perry marked 3.81 meters to finish 10
th in the long jump.
Abdussalaam finished 12
th in the 100-meter hurdles as she sprinted 19.87 seconds. In her second hurdle event, James ran 20.76 for 13
th.
The Mountain Lions are in action at the Concord Invite Friday at Callaghan Stadium.
