LYNCHBURG, Va. – Record-setting performances and season-best times took center stage for the Concord University women's track & field team at the Liberty Open Saturday afternoon.

For a second consecutive week, graduate student Emily Wallace broke a program record—this week in the mile. The Dry Fork, Virginia native eclipsed her own previous record time in the mile by four seconds as she  came through in 5:00.01. She was the runner-up in the event. Additionally, Wallace's time in the mile is the second fastest in the Mountain East Conference this winter.

Concord's 4x400-meter relay of sophomore Emma Jenkins, freshman Marin Parker, Wallace and freshman Izzy Williams ran two seconds faster than it previously had this season as the quartet combined for a time of 4:19.22 to place 12th.

Freshman Nadiyah Abdussalaam marked a season-best 10.65 meters in the triple jump as finished 15th. On Friday at VMI, Abdussalaam broke the program record in the pentathlon as she scored 2,492 points—79 points better than the old record by Kaitlen Hubbard from 2018.
