GET YOUR HATS OUT
Senior defender
Leah Fleming became the latest Mountain Lion to record a hat trick this fall as she netted three first-half goals in Wednesday's 6-1 win over West Virginia Wesleyan. Fleming entered the contest with only nine career goals and had not scored since October 6 versus Salem. With Fleming's hat trick, three different Mountain Lions have hat tricks this season as Fleming joins freshman midfielder
Marika Svensson (at Glenville State) and senior forward
Sydney Tucker (vs. Salem, at West Liberty and at Wheeling). The five hat tricks by CU this season are the most as a team since Concord recorded five hat tricks in 2019. The six goals versus West Virginia Wesleyan puts CU within two goals of 50 for the year.
RIVALRY RENEWED
Although Sunday will be just the tenth time that Concord and West Virginia State meet in women's soccer, the series has turned into a rivalry. The Maroon and Gray holds a 4-2-3 advantage with the latest matchup in September being a 0-0 draw. Freshman midfielder
Tiana Campbell led CU in shots by taking four of Concord's nine shots. The Mountain Lions' defense held WVSU to five shots for the game, and it was just one of three instances where the Yellow Jackets have been shutout this season. Freshman goalkeeper
Maddie Loughborough needed to make one save to secure the shutout. In last year's meeting with CU as the home team, the Mountain Lions leaned on junior forward
Caitlin Webster's brace in a 2-1 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
KEEP IT ROLLING
The Mountain Lions' goal production can be traced to the fact that Concord has six games where it has scored at least five goals this season, including five in the home opener versus Davis & Elkins September 22. Concord's 48 goals are third in Division II. Svensson and Tucker both had a brace in the game with Tucker scoring the first (39
th minute) and last goals (77
th minute). Svensson tallied goals in the 41
st and 59
th minutes while Fleming netted a goal in the 64
th minute. CU has scored at least four goals in each of the last four games versus D&E. At Davis & Elkins last season, senior forward
Nora Voisey and Webster scored in a 5-1 win. Fleming and Voisey tied the single-game program record for assists in CU's 6-0 win at home last season with three apiece.

WVSU comes to Athens Sunday having won seven straight games as it is the only team in the MEC to deal Frostburg State a loss during the streak. In all, 13 different players have scored for second-year head coach Brandon Slewa. Laura Galindo has eight shutouts this season and has saved over 85 percent of shots that have come her way.

nd minute in a 2-1 defeat for Davis & Elkins. D&E begins a two-game home stand over the weekend as it hosts Glenville State Sunday before welcoming CU Wednesday.
