ATHENS, W.Va. – As each sports program at Concord University has its season come to a close, the school's sports information department will spotlight each team into the summer in an Inside the Numbers series.
The next program to be profiled is men's cross country. The Mountain Lions finished second at the Mountain East Conference Championship in the fall. CU also secured its second consecutive NCAA National Championship Meet berth.
4- All-region runners for the Concord, the most in a single season in program history. The all-region standouts were
Cedric Drennen,
Issac Prather,
Preston Prather and
Logan Zuchelli.
6- Individual victories for I. Prather in 2022. He was also the MEC and Atlantic Regional Runner of the Year.
11- By the Prather brothers making First Team All-MEC, it marked the 11
th consecutive year that the Mountain Lions have had at least one first team all-conference runner.
15- Points scored by Concord at its home meet as it took the team victory. It was the 10
th consecutive year that CU finished first or second at its home invitational.
18- Regional finish for Drennen after being just 16
th at the MEC Championship. Drennen, Prather and Zuchelli repeated on the all-region team in 2022.
23:51- Time ran by I. Prather for the 8,000-meter course at Lehigh's Paul Short Run. It was the fastest 8,000-meter time in program history.
26- Five different runners ran under 26 minutes for 8,000-meters at Queens: I. Prather (24:22), Zuchelli (24:53), P. Prather (24:56), Drennen (25:16) and junior
Caleb Hatcher (25:54)
104- Points scored by Concord at the Atlantic Regional Championship to secure its spot at the national meet.
