HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Concord University men's track & field team placed fifth at the Mountain East Conference Championships that wrapped up Saturday evening at the Chris Cline Indoor Complex.

Issac Prather was voted as the MEC Track Athlete of the Year after claiming his second victory of the meet Saturday afternoon.
Prather finished first in the 3,000-meter run as he came through in 8:20.45. On Friday night, the Summersville, West Virginia native won the 5,000-meter run. He becomes the athlete in program history to earn MEC Athlete of the Year honors for the indoor campaign. Prather was the MEC Athlete of the Year for last year's outdoor season.
Sophomore
Logan Zuchelli finished sixth in the 3,000-meters as he ran 8:37. Junior
Preston Prather had a showing of 8:39 which was ninth. Graduate student
Cedric Drennen stopped the timer at 8:48.13 as he placed 11
th.
Graduate student
Gerard Hearst claimed a podium finish in the 60-meter dash as he sprinted to a time of 6.84 seconds, getting edged for the individual victory by Wheeling's Jabez Reeves by .02 seconds. In other sprint action, sophomore
Ian Gardner ran 49.02 seconds in the 400-meter dash as he placed fourth.
Senior
Alex Watty claimed the final scoring spot in the 800-meter run as he crossed the tape in eighth (1:56.76). Sophomore

th in a time of 1:59.61.

Robbie Cochran, Gardner and Watty put together a showing of 3:26.73 which was good enough for sixth.
Drennen clocked 4:25.36 in the mile run placing him ninth.
West Liberty won the meet with a total of 166.5 points, 18 better than Charleston. WLU's Justin Simpson was the MEC Coach of the Year. Charleston's Thomas Termote was voted MEC MVP for the Championships.
