ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team returns to the field after a 10-day break from competition when it hosts Alderson Broaddus 1:00 p.m. Sunday and Charleston 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in a pair of Mountain East Conference home games at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex.

Tomas Kelly scored two goals in Concord's 4-3 loss at West Virginia Wesleyan. It was the second and third goals of the season for the Manchester, England native. Kelly became the first CU player with a two-goal game since
Maxime Ramioulle scored twice against West Liberty in September 2018. The other goal scorer for the Mountain Lions against West Virginia Wesleyan was freshman forward

ONE-GOAL GAMES
The last two times that Concord has squared off with Alderson Broaddus in Beckley the final score line has been a one-goal difference. Last year's contest was a 2-1 AB win that featured 38 total shots, but just 11 on goal. Sophomore defender
Esteban Correa went forward for two shots (one on target). The spring 2021 meeting featured a plethora of shots, 34 combined, but only one goal that came in overtime for the Battlers. Junior midfielder

TOUGH TEST
The Mountain Lions will welcome Charleston to Beckley Wednesday for a midweek matchup. The Golden Eagles are currently ranked 10
th in the Division II National Poll. UC has scored 19 goals which is the third most in the MEC this season. The goalkeeping trio of freshmen
Keegan Grant,
Jack Root and
Tommy Smith will all be tested by Charleston who is led by Eduardo Barros with four goals—tied for second in the MEC. This season, Grant leads the group of goalies with 22 saves over 405 minutes in goal.

SCOUTING THE BATTLERS
The lone win for Alderson Broaddus came against West Liberty in shutout fashion, 1-0, September 11.
The draws for the Battlers came in the season against Salem, and CU's last opponent, West Virginia Wesleyan—both 1-1. AB has not scored more than one goal in any game this fall. Nathan Bouard and Andreas Rossak have each scored twice.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
The only loss for UC this season came against Davis & Elkins who is up to third in the Division II National Poll. Felipe Mercado has scored twice this season and added three assists. Mercado is second on the team in points with seven, trailing only Barros' nine points. Marc Torrado has posted three shutouts this season in goal for Charleston.
