National Poll (Oct. 6)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Concord University men's soccer team is nationally ranked for the first time this season as the Mountain Lions are at number 19 in the weekly release of the United Soccer Coaches' Division II National Top 25 Poll Tuesday afternoon.
CU is unbeaten in its last eight games, posting a record of 7-0-1 in that stretch. Overall, the Mountain Lions are 8-1-2 on the season and sit in first place in the MEC South Division with 21 points.
Cal State Los Angeles is atop the poll for the third straight week with Midwestern State, Charleston, Auburn University Montgomery and Southern New Hampshire rounding out the top five. Davis & Elkins, who Concord defeated on Sunday to hand the Senators their first loss of the season, is 12
th in this week's poll.
Other teams from Super Region One ranked in the top 25 besides Concord, Charleston, Southern New Hampshire and Davis & Elkins were Mercy (18
th) and Gannon (24
th).
Tuesday's announcement marks the third straight season that Concord has been ranked in at least one national poll release. Last year, the Mountain Lions climbed as high as 10
th in the USC Division II Poll—the highest ranking in program history.
Concord travels to West Liberty 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.
