LEAH WITH LATE DRAMA
Sophomore midfielder Leah Fleming scored her third career goal to help the Mountain Lions get past Gannon, 3-2, in the first game of the season. Fleming's 85th minute goal was the latest regular-season game-winning goal for CU since Yasmin Mosby netted a double-overtime goal against Notre Dame November 6, 2019. Fleming's goal was set up by sophomore forward Jayme Millard who tallied a three-point game in her Concord debut. Millard is the first CU player with three or more points in their career debut since fifth-year senior forward Leah Foster collected a hat trick at King to begin the 2018 season.

OFF AND RUNNING
Last year in a 3-1 win over Chowan at home, the Mountain Lions jumped out on the Hawks in the first 65 seconds of the game as senior forward Rachel Bell buried a goal—the first of two for the Brampton, England native versus Chowan. Bell was in the middle of an early goal to start 2022 as she assisted on senior midfielder Michelle Brogden's goal in the fourth minute against Gannon. Going back to last year, Brogden has scored in six of her last 10 games. Foster was responsible for two assists in last year's win over the Hawks.

ROAD WARRIORS
Going back to the 2019 season, Concord is unbeaten in its last 17 true road games. CU was 8-0-1 last season away from the YMCA Cline Complex as the only game that wasn't a win was a 2-2 draw at West Virginia Wesleyan. WVWC was also the team that gave CU its last road loss, a 2-1 loss September 25, 2019. And the Mountain Lions have scored three or more goals in 12 of those 17 road games.

They posted a 5-11-1 record overall, and was 5-6-1 in Conference Carolina action, losing in the first round of the conference tournament.
