GETTING BACK ON TRACK
Concord had a pair of close losses last week as it fell 2-1 to both Davis & Elkins and West Virginia State. CU had gone 72 consecutive games without back-to-back defeats. The last time the Maroon and Gray had back-to-back losses were against Salem and Wesleyan in September 2018. Against West Virginia State, senior midfielder
Michelle Brogden scored her second goal of the season and 10
th of her career. Meanwhile, junior defender
Olivia Bekeleski netted her first career goal versus Davis & Elkins Saturday. Fifth-year senior goalkeeper
Leah Marsh recorded a career-high nine saves versus Davis & Elkins.
FINDING A WAY
The Mountain Lions were able to earn a point at WVWC last season as they erased 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to tie 2-2. Senior midfielder
Courtney Smith assisted on the first goal of the game for CU in the 53
rd minute. CU outshot the Bobcats in the game 15-6, but five of the six shots for Wesleyan were on goal as Marsh made three saves. The 2-2 tie came after Concord blanked the Bobcats 6-0 at home earlier in 2021. Fifth-year senior forward
Leah Foster tallied a 10
th minute goal. Senior midfielder
Ellie Hawcroft and sophomore forward
Nora Voisey accounted for second-half tallies.
TOUGH SLEDDING
While Concord has been close on a few occasions in recent memory, the Maroon and Gray will be seeking their first win at West Virginia Wesleyan since 2005. To go along with last year's draw, Concord lost by a goal in the regular season, 2-1, in 2019, and had a 0-0 draw in the MEC Championship in 2018—that WVWC won on penalty kicks. Foster netted the score in the 2019 road contest at Wesleyan, and is the only current CU player to have scored in Buckhannon.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Four of the five goals for WVWC this season came in a shutout win over Glenville State last week. The most recent contest for the Bobcats was a 2-0 loss at Charleston Sunday. Both goals for Kameron Bonneau this fall came versus Glenville State. Ally Moore has made 12 saves in net while allowing six goals in 2022.
