CROFTON, Md. – The Concord University men's golf team placed eighth at the Crofton Invite hosted by California (Pa.) at the Crofton Country Club that wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions had a 36-hole score of 642 as they posted 324 on Monday before improving by six strokes Tuesday.
Senior
Noah Clark paced Concord with a two-day total of 147 (74, 73). Clark sank eight birdies for the tournament and finished three strokes off the lead of Mercyhurst's Ryan Ferry. Clark also had an eagle on his scorecard over the 36 holes and his scoring average of 4.05 on par 4s was the best for the tournament.
Fifth-year senior
Brett Laxton carded 79 on Monday before firing off an 80 to conclude the tournament. He tied for 29
th.
Junior
Carson Proffitt was tied for 49
th with teammate and freshman
Grayson Murray as both scored 168. Proffitt shot 86 and 82 while Murray hit a first-round 85 before finishing with an 83. Sophomore
Grant Rosenbaum scored 87 on the first day and returned with an 84 Tuesday.
Playing as individual, junior
Colin Wiley recorded rounds of 85 and 89.
Led by Ferry, Mercyhurst won the team event by 11 strokes with a total of 602.
CU will host a tri-match on Thursday at Pipestem State Park in Pipestem, West Virginia.
