DAVIS, W.Va. – The Concord University women's golf team placed fourth at the Dr. Wally Edgell D2 Classic hosted by Davis & Elkins at Canaan Valley Resort Monday and Tuesday.
The Mountain Lions had their second and third-lowest rounds of the fall at 353 and 351, combining for 704.
Fifth-year senior
Melinda Goda carded rounds of 77 and 81 to finish sixth with a 36-hole score of 158. The 77 on Monday was Goda's lowest round since the spring of 2021 at The Greenbrier. Sophomore
Mary Denny fired an 81 during the first round and came back with a career-best score of 78 Tuesday. Denny's 159 was seventh.
Freshman
Anna Fry combined for a score of 192 (99, 93) to finish 19
th. Like Denny, Tuesday's round was a career best. Â Fellow freshman
Josie Montgomery scored a career-low round of 96 in the first round and followed it up with a 99 to finish at 195, placing 19
th.
Senior
Taylor Bohan fired a pair of 101s to finish in 20
th.
Davis & Elkins won the team event with a score of 626. D&E's Paulina Narvaez carded rounds of 75 and 76 to win by three strokes.
Tuesday's round was the final career round for Goda who will graduate in December.
